4. A Family Affair
My 31 year old son has passion for writing fiction and over the years has become very good. He's been published a number of times and won some contests. His characters have realistic traits that catch you off guard. When I finish a story I have no sense of how long I've been reading – a good sign of an engaging story. They're emotionally involving but in an understated way.
An interesting thing he's doing now is writing on his blog about "How to Succeed as a Writer without even Trying" and it's surprisingly popular. The other day he had an interview with Jim Cox, Managing Editor at Midwest Book Review. Have a look.
My brother is the North American Distributor for a new line of hair styling products from the UK that's pretty special. I'm not a stylist so I don't know the proper terminology, but apparently the reason it's so popular is that it has very strong hold but doesn't build up in your hair, and amazingly, washes out with water. The line is called Osmo Essence hair styling products. The two most popular products are "Clay Wax" and "Shaper Maker". |
